Marion Elaine (Griffus) Casey, 82 of Charlotte died Wednesday, September 11, 2013 at Hope Landing in Charlotte, Michigan. Marion was born May 20, 1931 in Lansing, MI the daughter of Loraine C. and Janette I. (Bound) Griffus. She graduated from Eastern High School in Lansing in January of 1949. She married William E. Casey Jr. on July 15, 1950 at the Mt. Hope United Methodist Church in Lansing. Marion worked at Wilcox-Gay Corp., Eaton Agency, Strecks Insurance, Aluminum Extrusions, Nelson Loan, and worked 21 years for the Eaton County Juvenile Court as Juvenile Register, retiring in July of 1990. She enjoyed quilting, traveling and helping with her grandchildren. She belonged to the Southside Mother's Club and attended Lawrence Avenue United Methodist Church. Marion is survived by a son, William E. Casey III of Charlotte; 2 daughters, Lucinda R. Casey of Lansing and Linnea P. Peters of Lansing; grandchildren, Mickey S. VanLake of Holt, Jennifer VanLake of Dimondale, Erica (Aaron) Kayne of Charlotte, William E. Casey IV of Charlotte; 6 great grandchildren; 3 sisters, Joyce (Richard) Shaw of DeWitt, Mickie Lee Vanderlip of Dimondale and Judith B. (James) Thompson of Bath. She will be missed by many friends and neighbors.She was predeceased by her parents, and her husband of 50 years, William E. Casey Jr., on March 31, 2000, and brother-in-law, James Vanderlip.Visitation will be held Saturday and Sunday, September 14 and 15, 2013 from 2-4pm and 6-8pm at Pray Funeral Home, Charlotte, Michigan. Funeral Services will be Monday, September 16, 2013 at 2pm with Rev. Gary Wales officiating. Interment will be in Maple Hill Cemetery.Memorial contributions may be made to Lawrence Avenue United Methodist Church in Charlotte. Arrangements by Pray Funeral Home, Charlotte, MI.
