Raymond C. Stanke, 88, of Charlotte, passed away on September 29, 2013 in Charlotte, MI. He was born on October 1, 1924, to Emil and Blanche (Tingay) Stanke. Raymond was a member of Eaton County Farm Bureau, Thornapple Special Community Action Group, and the Thornapple Grand Soil Conservation Group. He was a member of the Santee School Board in the mid 1960's. Ray was involved in various activities with his wife Mary in the Gresham United Methodist Church. He loved to pick rocks on the family farm with his kids and neighbors after clearing the ground for the first time. Raymond faced his first challenge as a young child when he contracted polio. The doctors told his parents that he needed to be put in a facility but they refused.
